High School Principal
My name is Chris Collett. I was born in Sulphur, LA., on May 2, 1969. I am very proud of my Cajun heritage, as you will see if you visit my office. I have purple and gold everywhere. I came to Arkansas in 1990 to attend school at Harding University and loved the area so much that I stayed.
I married Angela Minella on Dec 31, 1999 and now have three daughters, Carly, Hailey, and Tori. Our girls are students here at Pangburn and are active in various clubs, athletics and choir. My wife and I are members of the Four Mile Hill church of Christ on Hwy 16. I have had the honor of serving as a Youth Minister, a Deacon, and am currently serving as an Elder for the church.
I began my teaching career with the Riverview School District where I served as the Director of the STRIVE Center. The STRIVE Center was an alternative school that served the Riverview, McRae, WCC and Bradford School Districts. In this role, I served from 1995 until 2000 leading and assisting teachers in the education and development of at risk students.
I made the move to the Pangburn School District in 2000. While here at Pangburn, I have served the Pangburn School District as the Alternative School Director for 16 years. I served as the Head Coach for the girl’s fast pitch softball program both the 2001 and 2002 seasons and have enjoyed working with the team as Assistant Coach for the past four seasons. I have had the privilege to teach Social Studies classes in both the High School and Middle School. This year, I have been honored with the opportunity to serve teachers, students, and the community in the role of high school principal, which has been a lifelong goal of mine.
In the high school office, some staff members try to beat each other daily by being the first to say “It’s a Great Day to be a Tiger!!” I am proud to work here and even more proud that my kids have the opportunity to attend school here. To my family, every day is a “Great Day to be a Tiger”.
